The APR Turbo Inlet System is a complete solution for upgrading the factory or already modified intake system.
For maximum performance, it is extremely important to pay attention to the restrictive components between the airbox and the turbocharger. Often these parts are upgraded individually, but this is not the best approach because compromises are made with the overall design in the name of compatibility. That is why APR created a complete system that covers the entire path from the turbo to the airbox.
APR managed to maximize the diameter and optimize the geometry from the turbine to the airbox to provide maximum flow at minimum pressure drop. The system starts at 80 mm and can expand up to 88 mm for larger airbox configurations.
For every inlet of a given size, there is a theoretical maximum flow, but in real-world conditions, results usually reach about 90% of it. For the GTI, APR aimed for exactly that - and achieved 90% of the ideal maximum with the APR turbo inlet. This means the turbo doesn't have to work as hard, which leads to:
• lower temperatures
• better efficiency
• higher performance
The system is compatible with the factory airbox and works excellently with the APR intake filter for those who prefer a more discreet OEM+ upgrade. It also combines perfectly with various APR airbox-only systems, such as APR Carbon Fiber and PEX open systems.
Of course, none of these configurations can compare to the potential of the full APR intake system with modular covers, but this is the best performance that can be expected without upgrading all three main components in a common design:

Every detail in the system is optimized for enthusiasts seeking real results. The hose is wire-reinforced so there's no chance of it collapsing under high load and temperature. Since oil vapors from the PCV system eventually enter the intake, the inside of the hose is lined with fluorosilicone to be resistant to oil and fuel. Finally, the adapter to the turbo is removable, allowing the system to evolve with future upgrades.
