This high-performance hybrid turbocharger was designed by CTS Turbo engineers to meet the demand of customers wanting a direct bolt-on upgrade for cars factory-equipped with IS12, IS20, or IS38 turbos.
Rather than the compromise approach of installing a Mitsubishi CHRA into a stock factory housing, CTS Turbo developed and cast its own stainless steel turbine housing, designed to accommodate a larger turbine wheel. The compressor housing is all-new, specially profiled, to work with the popular billet TD06 compressor impeller, allowing the turbo to reliably operate at pressures above 30 PSI.
The CHRA unit is upgraded with dual ceramic ball bearings, made from heat-resistant ceramic material, ensuring fast response, high durability, and stability under extreme loads. Each turbo is balanced on a VSR high-speed machine, guaranteeing performance exceeding OE standards.
This is an all-new turbocharger – no core is required, and there are no long waiting periods. For installation, only the wastegate actuator and turbo outlet from the original turbo need to be transferred. Software tuning is mandatory and offered by most established tuners.
