RacingLine Uprated Engine Mounts – A5 / MQB / MQB Evo

RacingLine Uprated Engine Motor Mounts are reinforced engine and transmission mounts developed for VW, Audi, Cupra / SEAT and Skoda A5, MQB and MQB Evo models.

Their main task is to reduce excessive engine and gearbox movement during acceleration, sudden load changes, and aggressive shifting. The result is a more direct feel, cleaner power transfer to the road, and significantly better control over the drivetrain.

Standard factory mounts compromise in favor of comfort and low vibrations. This is perfectly acceptable for normal driving, but with higher power, sportier driving, or track use, the engine and gearbox can move excessively. This leads to a soft feel, delayed response, imprecise gear changes, and front-end hop during sharp acceleration.

RacingLine solves this problem with completely redesigned replacement mounts, not just simple inserts that merely fill the voids of the factory mount. This provides a stronger structure, more precise positioning of the powertrain, and more stable operation under load.

The lower mount controls much of the front-to-back movement of the engine and transmission. Therefore, for fast road cars, RacingLine recommends starting with this mount. For high-power vehicles, track use, or drag racing, the full set of three mounts is the best solution.

The mounts and links are made from T6061 aluminum, precisely CNC-machined and combined with a carefully selected polymer of varying hardness. The goal is to reduce powertrain movement without making the car unnecessarily harsh to drive.

What do they do?

The engine and gearbox are fixed to the car through several main points. The two upper mounts support the weight of the engine and transmission, while the lower mount controls the movement of the entire powertrain during acceleration, braking, and load changes.

When these mounts are too soft, the powertrain shifts more than it should. This leads to a loss of directness, a more unstable feel during gear changes, and a greater risk of front-end hop during sharp acceleration.

Lower Mount or Full Set?

• Lower Mount: the best choice for most fast road cars. Provides a significant portion of the improvement without adding excessive noise and vibrations.
• Full set of 3 mounts: recommended for high-power vehicles, track use, drag racing, or very aggressive operation.

• The full set of three mounts is a more extreme upgrade and may increase noise, vibrations, and harshness in the cabin.
• After installation, it is normal for the mounts to have a bedding-in period during the first few hundred kilometers.
