The Volkswagen Cold Air System delivers cold fresh air from outside the engine compartment directly to the engine for the Seat Leon Cupra and Cupra R mk2 models via a large diameter, high-flow intake pipe. The Volkswagen Cold Air System replaces the restrictive factory intake tract with an efficient, high-performance system that uses a reusable foam filter for long-lasting use. Developed for use in the Racingline Performance Cup racing series, where removal of the factory intake tract is possible, the Racingline Performance system achieves impressive increases of up to 9% in peak power compared to the standard system. In some cases, the turbocharger speed is reduced by almost 500 RPM, which reduces turbo lag and creates extremely fast turbo response. The Racingline Performance Intake filter is made of a three-layer polyurethane material with an open cell structure, which provides a high level of filtration to protect the engine from airborne contaminants, without significantly restricting airflow. The same filter material is used by F1 teams around the world due to its excellent filtration and air properties. In VWR's experience, cheaper foam materials cannot provide the same flow and filtration, meaning a compromise for your engine.
