RacingLine Performance Intercooler – 2.0 TSI EA888 Gen.4 MQB Evo

RacingLine Performance Intercooler VWR141000 is a high-performance intercooler specifically designed for 2.0 TSI EA888 Gen.4 MQB Evo cars from VW, Audi, Cupra, and Skoda.

The factory intercooler on the MQB Evo 2.0 TSI platform struggles with higher power, aggressive driving, and repeated accelerations. When intake temperatures start to rise, heat soak occurs, and the car begins to lose power precisely when the load is greatest.

RacingLine solves this problem with a massive Plate & Bar intercooler featuring a 70mm core and huge internal volume. Compared to the factory cooler, the RacingLine intercooler offers a 96% larger volume, making it one of the most significant solutions for this platform.

The main goal is clear: lower intake temperatures, minimal pressure drop, and stable power under repeated load. RacingLine has sought the right balance between maximum cooling and minimal pressure loss to achieve a larger size without unnecessary turbo lag.

The intercooler uses enlarged 70mm inlets and outlets, whereas the factory cooler has 60mm outlets. This allows for higher flow and freer passage of compressed air. Corresponding reinforced pressure hoses, specially developed for this system, are also included in the kit.

The cast end tanks are designed with internal airflow guides that distribute air evenly across the entire depth of the core. This reduces turbulence, improves efficiency, and helps the intercooler operate stably even under heavy load.

This is not a universal intercooler adapted for MQB Evo. RacingLine developed it from scratch specifically for the 2.0 TSI EA888 Gen.4, which means better fitment, more correct airflow, and more predictable behavior in real-world use.

Installation

• To accommodate the larger RacingLine intercooler, slight trimming of the black plastic radiator support is required.
• For popular models like the Golf 8, this trimming is minimal, but for some other MQB Evo models, more adjustment may be necessary.
• RacingLine states that the installation is designed for a radiator support with VW part number 5H0 805 588 J.
