RacingLine Twin Dogbone Insert – MQB / MQB Evo

The RacingLine Twin Dogbone Insert is a kit of two precision aluminum inserts for the factory lower engine mount on MQB and MQB Evo vehicles.

This upgrade is designed to limit excessive engine and gearbox movement during acceleration, sudden load changes, and aggressive gear shifts. The result is a more direct feel, better power transfer to the road, and significantly tighter vehicle behavior.

The factory lower mount has large cavities that allow the entire powertrain to move back and forth. This is good for comfort, but with more dynamic driving, software tuning, or higher power, it leads to a loss of directness, front-end hop, and a softer feel when applying throttle.

RacingLine solves this problem with a dual system of upper and lower inserts. Unlike single inserts, which load the mount unevenly and can create a twisting moment, the Twin Dogbone Insert distributes forces on both sides of the mount. This provides better strength, more even loading, and longer-lasting performance.

The inserts are made from T6061 aluminum, precisely CNC machined, and finished with a black anodized coating for long-lasting protection. Installation is direct and is performed in the cavities of the factory lower mount, without the need to remove the subframe.

This is one of the most accessible and noticeable upgrades for MQB / MQB Evo vehicles. It is particularly useful for front-wheel drive cars, where front-end hop during hard acceleration is a common problem.

Why does this upgrade matter?

During hard acceleration, the engine and gearbox try to rotate within their mounts. The more movement there is, the more the direct feel between the throttle pedal and actual acceleration is lost.

The RacingLine Twin Dogbone Insert fills the factory cavities in the lower mount and limits this movement. The car feels more connected, throttle response becomes clearer, and the risk of front-end hop during hard launches is significantly reduced.

Why two inserts, not one?

Many solutions on the market use only one insert – upper or lower. This can create uneven loading and a twisting moment on the factory mount.

RacingLine uses two inserts that work together – one in the upper and one in the lower part of the mount. This distributes forces evenly and reduces the risk of premature wear or damage.

  • Visual inspection of the mount is recommended before ordering.

  • A slight increase in cabin noise, vibration, and harshness is possible, which is normal for this type of upgrade.
  • For vehicles with very high power or track use, RacingLine recommends a complete reinforced lower mount and torque arm.
