Mishimoto MQB EA888.3 Intake System

Mishimoto is developing a high-performance intake system for Volkswagen MK7 and Audi MQB models with the proven EA888 Gen3 engine.

The airbox's volume, shape, and material are crucial for ensuring maximum airflow to the engine. Mishimoto's engineering team created an extremely precise rotational-molded thermoplastic airbox that eliminates restrictions, delivers maximum cold air, and simultaneously improves the under-hood appearance.

The use of thermoplastic material minimizes heat soak and ensures durability even under harsh operating conditions. The entire system was developed using 3D printing, CAD modeling, and flow bench tests to achieve optimal airflow.

The result is 51.7% lower restriction compared to the factory system. This improvement in flow leads to dyno-proven gains of up to 5.27 hp and 9.23 lb-ft of torque on a stock MK7 GTI.

The kit also includes a high-flow oiled air filter, which offers 52% more filtering surface area compared to the factory panel filter. This ensures higher airflow without compromising protection against contaminants.
